A total of 3,217 applicants seeking Greek citizenship completed their language certification exams on Sunday, a mandatory step in the citizenship process for foreign nationals.

Organised by the Interior Ministry's General Secretariat for Citizenship in collaboration with the Education, Religions, and Sports Ministry, the exams were held across 55 test centres throughout Greece. Five of these centres were designated specifically for applicants over the age of 62 and those unable to participate in written exams due to learning disabilities or physical impairments exceeding 67%.

For the first time, a pilot program was implemented to monitor the use of mobile phones and electronic devices, a measure aimed at ensuring the transparency and integrity of the examination process.
