Greece’s Eurovision Entry “Asteromata” Begins Filming in Symbolic Locations

Claudia Papadopoulou, known as Klavdia, is a Greek singer aiming to represent Greece at Eurovision 2025 with her song Asteromata. Drawing inspiration from her Pontian Greek heritage, the track blends modern sounds with rich ethnic elements and Greek lyrics, addressing themes of displacement and the search for a better future amidst global conflict. Klavdia, who gained fame on The Voice of Greece in 2018, continues to impress with her collaborations with the music group Arcade.

Filming has commenced for the music video accompanying Greece’s Eurovision Song Contest entry, “Asteromata,” performed by Klavdia.

A newly released behind-the-scenes photo hints at a dramatic and symbolic visual narrative, featuring a fire in a rural setting.

The video is being shot in two distinct locations chosen for their cultural significance. The first, Tetralofos, Kozani, is a small mountain village primarily inhabited by descendants of Pontic Greek refugees. This location offers a poignant connection to a specific aspect of Greek history and cultural heritage. Filming in Tetralofos involved approximately 30 villagers, adding an authentic touch to the production.

The second location is the internationally renowned Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, a testament to ancient Greek civilization. By juxtaposing these two locations, the video aims to bridge the gap between ancient and modern Greece, highlighting the enduring thread of Greek history and tradition.

Director Giorgos Benioudakis is at the helm of the project, and anticipation is building for the completed video. The combination of a striking visual narrative and symbolic locations promises a powerful and culturally resonant accompaniment to Klavdia’s performance.
