Traffic Restrictions in Athens for Half Marathon Event on Sunday

Athens will implement traffic restrictions on Sunday, March 9th, from 07:00 to 14:00 due to the Athens Half Marathon and associated races.

The main event, the Half Marathon, will start at Amalias Avenue, near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, at 08:30 and conclude around 11:45. Other races include the OPAP 5 km Road Race, which will take place on Filellinon and Karageorgi Servias Streets from 12:00 to 13:35, and the Family Run/Disabled race, which will be held on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue near the Armed Forces Officers’ Club (LAED) from 11:45 to 11:52.

From 05:00 to 06:00 and again from 14:00 to 15:00, parking and stopping will be prohibited along key routes, impacting central Athens and nearby streets. These restrictions will apply to all vehicles, including bicycles and electric personal vehicles.
