Sydney-born Greek-Cypriot singer Nicole Pararistodomou and Greek Idol runner-up has made waves across the Greek music scene with her new single ‘Dyskola’ released last Thursday.
Co-written with Giorgos Kalogerakou, produced by Chico Beats and released by Greek Entertainment – Minos EMI, “Dyskola” marks a significant milestone in Nicole’s musical career.
Whilst her first single, ‘Ti Na Se Kano’ featured a more traditional Greek sound, ‘Dyskola’ blends Nicole’s talented vocals with fresh pop and Balkan instruments to make a memorable track.
Also known as Nikki Lee, the pop sensation has collaborated with Greek artists Anna Vissi, Despina Vandi, Giannis Ploutarchos, and Melisses and international Dance/Pop composers such as Claydee
Lupa. She has been recognised by Jessie J, Ricky Martin, Madden Brothers and Delta Goodrem through her participation in the 2014 The Voice Australia.
From Junior Eurovision to International stardom
Born in Sydney and raised in Paphos, Cyprus, Nicole began vocal lessons at just five years old. Nicole’s early promise quickly became evident when she competed in Pancyprian singing competitions, securing first and second prizes.
Her growing reputation in the music scene led her to participate in Junior Eurovision, marking the beginning of what would become a highly successful career.
After high school, Nicole was accepted into the internationally recognised Berklee College of Music in the United States with a partial scholarship. However, she postponed her studies to commit to professional music.
Nicole’s powerful vocals have been featured on the hit song “Mamacita Buena,” a track that quickly became a global sensation with over 80 million views on YouTube. Nicole’s musical versatility continued to shine through as she released her own successful singles, such as “Chiki Chiki,” which garnered 15 million YouTube views, along with “Heleya” and “Boy,” co-written by Nicole in collaboration with Australian musicians Sergio Selim and Berni Love.
In 2015, Nicole won a full scholarship to JMC Academy, one of Australia’s top music universities, graduating as the school’s top student in May 2017.
Returning to Athens shortly after, Nicole has toured alongside the iconic Anastasia in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, and her birthplace Australia.
You can listen to ‘Dyskola’ on all major streaming platforms.
