Greece experienced extreme temperatures during a heatwave, with Lefkochori in Fthiotida reaching 43.2°C, the highest in the country. Sparta followed closely at 43.1°C. The average high temperature nationwide was 36.1°C, with over 228 weather stations recording temperatures above 37°C.
The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) has issued a heatwave advisory starting tomorrow, with temperatures expected to soar above 41-42 degrees Celsius (105.8-107.6 degrees Fahrenheit) by Wednesday, particularly in mainland regions.
