Greece Launches €350 Million School Infrastructure Upgrade Program

Greece is investing €350 million to modernize school infrastructure, starting with 645 schools in 249 municipalities under the “Marietta Giannakou” programme. Announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the initiative includes a €100 million donation from the Hellenic Bank Association and aims to improve outdated school facilities. Education Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis emphasized that the first phase will prioritize over 600 schools, with upgrades ranging from classrooms to digital infrastructure. The first renovated schools are expected to be delivered by September 2024.
