Avin International Ltd. and Kriti Ruby Special Maritime Enterprises were fined $3.3 million after admitting to discharging oily bilge water near U.S. ports. The companies will also pay $1 million to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and are on probation for five years. The violations involved falsified records to the U.S. Coast Guard, with crew members bypassing pollution prevention measures.
