Legendary. Bouzouki Extraordinaire. Bouzouki on Fire.
Just some of the phrases that spring to mind when describing the world-class musician that is Thanasis Pylarinos.
The day that Thanasis happened across his musician father’s bouzouki in the family storeroom was the day that changed Thanasis’s life.
Born to be a musician, Thanasis was quickly embraced and respected within the Greek community and music industry, his life falling into this path easily as fate so intended.
In addition to playing the bouzouki, Thanasis is also gifted on the piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums.
A professional musician from the tender age of just 14 when he was attending school by day and performing at gigs by night, Thanasis has shared the stage with Greek music royalty such as the likes of Dimitris Bassis, Stathis Aggelopoulos, Vasilis Lekkas, Nikos Kourkoulis, Kelly Kellidou, Thanasis Vasilakos, Sakis Arsenious….the list goes on. And on.
Most recently, the highly-regarded musician graced the stage as lead bouzouki player for esteemed conductor, composer and orchestrator, George Ellis’s 45-piece Orchestra, playing to crowds of over 2,000 people.
With music running through his veins as it did for his father before him, for Thanasis, music is all about the fantastic times, the laughs and the memories that remain forever.
“No matter where or when or which instrument, music is something magical that just keeps me going,” says Thanasis.
“Every performance is treated like it’s the first time, meaning 100% energy.”
Thanasis is currently working on his upcoming album, composed of all original music and lyrics – soon to be released and available on music platforms everywhere.
