Prime Minister Mitsotakis Highlights Importance of Greek European Parliament Elections

PM Mitsotakis: Europarliamentary elections are national elections; ND must retain its leadership

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis underscored the critical significance of the upcoming Greek European Parliament elections in June during his visit to the southern suburb of Agios Dimitrios on Saturday.

He reiterated that the European Parliamentary elections are national elections, emphasizing the need for residents to ensure that the ruling New Democracy (ND) party maintains its leading political position on the night of June 9. Mitsotakis also questioned whether any other party "could claim to have done more for Greece in Europe" than ND, citing achievements such as the Recovery Fund and addressing the migration issue.

Acknowledging the high cost of goods as a primary concern for Greek households, the Prime Minister stated that the government is aware of this challenge. He reminded residents that his administration has substantially increased the minimum wage and implemented wage and pension raises in the public sector for the first time in 12 years.
