Paradise Beach, Thassos: Deep blue waters and shade from pine trees

Paradise Beach, Thassos

Thassos stands out for its many good beaches, especially for families: shallow waters, endless sandy beaches, and pine forests. Paradise Beach is one of them.

The first thing that strikes you when arriving on the eastern coast of Thassos is the colours. The designation "blue-green waters" is only conventionally attributed to the colour combinations that change from point to point and depending on the position of the sun.

Its sand is light in colour, from white to golden, and really thick. If the sun is not hot, you will want to walk barefoot on it.

Paradise Beach, Thassos

Like the other beaches of Thassos, the coast is embraced by dense pine forests and general vegetation that contribute to the feeling of an exotic island—a true paradise.

The beach is organised with a beach bar, deck chairs, and umbrellas for rent, but there is also enough space to set up your own umbrella.

There is also a beach volleyball court, while the nudists were the first to appreciate its heavenly beauty.

Paradise Beach, Thassos

It was one of their best-known haunts in the Northern Aegean. Of course, because the beach gradually became more and more popular, nudism stopped. However, some nudists continue this "tradition" in a corner of the beach near the rocks.

One reason the beach is popular with families is its shallow waters. Of course, it is better to come here on a day when there is no strong wind unless you are a fan of windsurfing.

Paradise Beach, Thassos

Paradise Beach looks worthy of its name. Families, lovers of relaxing sunbathing that lasts until the afternoon, and water sports enthusiasts—everyone will find what they are looking for.

How to get there?

Paradise is 2 kilometres from the village of Koinyra and 23 kilometres from Limenas. Access to Paradise is quite easy, as you can park your vehicle on the main road and walk to the beach.

Especially with small children, we recommend you continue cautiously on the dirt road until you reach the sea.

Of course, if you want to park there during the high season, you should come early in the morning.

Food

Paradise is located very close to the village of Koinyra, which was once a small village with permanent residents who were mainly fishermen and occasional residents who worked in olive picking. Today, it is touristically developed and has several accommodation and dining options.

O Faros and Agorastos

O Faros is in a relaxing spot overlooking the sea and the opposite island. It offers a variety of dishes, such as seafood, meat, and vegetables, all cooked in a traditional oven.

Agorastos also combines a beautiful location with good service, delicious flavours, and imaginative presentation of dishes, such as the seafood souvlaki.

O Giorgos and Sta Kala Kathoumena

At Giorgos, we loved the Meraklidi old-school fish appetisers and the fresh salads. At Sta Kala Kathoumena, we enjoyed well-cooked dishes, such as steamed mussels, with one of the most beautiful views in the northern Aegean.

Here are some tips if you choose Thassos for your vacation

Thassos is a green island with pleasant routes that hiking and motorcycle lovers will love.

Although the island can hardly be considered unknown and unexplored anymore, in Thassos, some villages remind us of what Greece was like before mass tourism.

Another advantage of the island is the comfortable and long ring road for the island that will lead you to its countless good beaches.

The island's gastronomy is based on the products of the sea and olive trees. The thrompa olive of Thassos is famous, and the honey produced by the island's beekeepers is excellent.
