Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, Now Open for Reservations

Greek Villas

In a much-anticipated venture, Mandarin Oriental unveiled its plans last February to establish its inaugural hotel in Greece. This opulent and stylish new property already accepts reservations today, promising an unforgettable stay for discerning travellers.

Nestled in the enchanting southwest Peloponnese, this beachfront resort offers a scenic escape just a three-hour drive from Athens or a quick 40-minute journey from Kalamata International Airport. Positioned prominently within the prestigious Costa Navarino development, the aptly named Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, stands adjacent to the W Hotel and Westin Resort. With August 15 officially opening, the luxury retreat is all set to welcome guests seeking an unrivalled experience.

Perched gracefully on the Messanian hillside, this debut Grecian outpost boasts an impressive assortment of 99 rooms and suites, including 48 exquisite pool villas adorned with outdoor terraces that offer breathtaking shimmering sea vistas. Visitors can revel in a colossal 16,145-square-foot wellness facility with an inviting indoor-outdoor pool and an array of five fine restaurants and bars. Adventurers seeking a thrill can indulge in water sports, biking, and rock climbing, while golf enthusiasts can tee off on four splendid local golf courses.

The true culinary connoisseurs among you will be delighted to know that all on-site dining establishments are overseen by acclaimed chef Bertrand Valegeas, celebrated for his Michelin-starred ventures. Your palate will be spoiled for choice, with options ranging from delectable local Greek cuisine at Oliviera to tantalizing French fare at Brasserie de la Bay. Those seeking a taste of Levantine-inspired dishes can savour the delights at Tahir Restaurant, while the Private Kitchen promises top-tier dining experiences. For aperitivo enthusiasts, a visit to the Three Admirals Lounge is an absolute must. Beyond the tantalizing culinary journey, Costa Navarino also houses a lavish spa, 20 charming restaurants, and a rejuvenating thalassotherapy centre.

James Riley, the group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental, expressed his enthusiasm about their first property in Greece, stating, "We are delighted to be opening our first property in Greece in Costa Navarino and look forward to sharing this striking combination of unspoiled landscape, olive groves, pristine beaches, and authentic Greek culture in the region with our guests." The hotel is proud to join hands with Temes, the esteemed group behind the creation of Costa Navarino, which has flourished into a burgeoning tourism destination. Founded in 1997, Grecian developer Temes has successfully launched five luxurious resorts since 2010, elevating the status of Costa Navarino, which now stands as an alluring international destination for travellers and residents.

Following its grand debut next month, Mandarin Oriental sets its sights on yet another indulgent paradise—a private island resort in the Maldives—scheduled to open its doors in 2025. For those fortunate enough to experience both waterfront havens, deciding where to spend their time will undoubtedly become a delightful dilemma.
