The Greek Presidential Guard, or Evzones, visited Sydney in a moving tribute to the shared history of Greece and Australia. From marching at the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park to honoring Anzac sacrifices at Greek Orthodox churches, their presence celebrated a legacy of alliance forged in WWII and beyond.
The Evzones, Greece’s elite Presidential Guard, were honored at a Hellenic Club of Sydney luncheon on May 1, 2025, celebrating the Greek-Australian ANZAC legacy. The event, attended by dignitaries like Cyprus High Commissioner Antonis Sammoutis and Greek Consul General Ioannis Mallikourtis, highlighted shared wartime sacrifices and the enduring bond between Greece and Australia.
