Athens will make history as the first city in southeastern Europe to host the prestigious European Film Awards on **January 16, 2027**. This landmark event, spearheaded by the Hellenic Centre for Cinema, Audiovisual Media, and Creation (EKKOMED) with strong support from Greece’s Ministries of Culture, National Economy, and Tourism, will highlight the Greek film industry’s growing prominence and showcase Athens as a hub for European culture and creativity.
