Jon Adgemis’ Public Hospitality Group has lost a significant asset as the acclaimed Greek restaurant Alpha is no longer part of its portfolio. The hatted Sydney CBD restaurant, owned by the Hellenic Club, had been managed by Public since last December. Recently, discussions about the restaurant’s future culminated in Public’s departure. Con Dedes, an experienced restaurateur, has taken over management as of June 17. A joint statement from the Hellenic Club and Public Hospitality confirmed the mutual agreement to transition the restaurant’s management to Dedes, with chef George Calombaris assisting during the transition period.
